Sling library sessions allow you to come and get some advice from our experienced consultants and peer supporters, and also to access our sling and carrier hire service. We run two types of session, one a large open drop in and one with slots to book in advance. All dates are visible on our events page and on our Facebook page
The library is held every fortnight on a Tuesday from 10-12 (Starting 9th Jan 2018) at Backhaus&Co at FarGo Village. It is easily accessible via public transport and there is lots of local parking. There is no entry fee for this drop in, but all refreshments will be purchasable from Backhaus. If you wish to bring your own sling for advice then we do have a small charge to cover our time. This charge doesn’t apply if you hire from the event. People are seen on a first come first served basis, however we may try to group people together who have similar needs. You will usually get around 10-15 minutes with a consultant or peer supporter, who can advise you on options if you feel you need a longer session. The venue is accessible and child friendly, however you may wish to bring activities for older children.
On the second Friday of each month the library is held at Overslade Community Centre on Buchanan Road in Rugby from 9.30-12.30. There are bus stops at the bottom of the road, limited parking at the centre and plenty of on road parking.
On arrival, please come into the front door and we will greet you. Refreshments will be available and we will take your name and discuss what help you want. There is a £2 per family entry fee, or £1 per family for members of Coventry Slings. People are seen on a first come first served basis, however we may try to group people together who have similar needs. You will usually get around 10-15 minutes with a consultant or peer supporter, who can advise you on options if you feel you need a longer session.
Hires are £10 for two weeks or £15 for four, and they are half price for members. We accept cash and all major cards. If you are hiring we ask that you bring proof of address with you but we do not take deposits.
You can view our inventory before hand to get an idea of what is available to try and you are welcome to bring your own sling or carrier for help making it work for you.
All children are welcome however you may wish to bring an activity for older ones. These venues are fully accessible for pushcairs and wheelchairs.
On the last Saturday of each month we hold a session at Emily’s home from 10-12. This session has 6 bookable slots for £3 each to arrange to collect a sling, get a short troubleshooting session or have a demo and fitting of a sling before hiring.
